Advisory tool
Which pathway into A-State fits you?
There are four ways in: direct undergraduate entry, ELA then your major, transfer from a university in Vietnam, or graduate study. This tool suggests a pathway based on your actual situation — in under two minutes.
Many families start with the wrong question: "Will my child get in?" The better question is "Which door should my child use?" — because with the same transcript, the ELA-then-degree route can save a year compared with staying home to prepare for IELTS, and a transfer can preserve up to two years of completed credits. Our admissions team built this tool from A-State’s official 2026–27 requirements and the experience of handling hundreds of applications, so you have a first answer before you ever meet an advisor.
The information you enter is used only for pathway advising and is protected by our admissions team under our Privacy Policy. We do not sell data to third parties.

How the tool works
- 1
You answer six questions
Current education level, grade average, English, field of interest, intended intake and expected budget. No documents, no account.
- 2
Get an instant recommendation
The result shows which pathway to aim for, the nearest realistic intake, scholarships you may qualify for and what to prepare next.
- 3
An advisor follows up within 1–2 days
A International Admissions Office advisor reviews your result, converts your grades precisely and books a free one-on-one session if you want to go further.

The four pathways the tool can recommend
Direct undergraduate entry
High-school diploma, GPA 2.3 or higher and IELTS 5.5 / TOEFL 61 / Duolingo 110. $3,000 a year with a 3.25 GPA.
→ELA + degree
Grades qualify but English does not: conditional admission, one to two ELA semesters, then straight into your major.
→Transfer
Currently at a university in Vietnam with a GPA of 2.0 or higher: transfer credits and finish at A-State.
→Graduate
Bachelor’s degree, GPA 2.75 or higher, IELTS 6.0: master’s or PhD with assistantships that waive out-of-state tuition.
→Frequently asked questions
Is the tool’s result an admission decision?
No. It is an initial suggestion based on A-State’s general 2026–27 requirements. The official decision is made by International Admissions after reviewing your complete file.
What if I have no IELTS score yet?
Select “Not taken yet”. The tool will suggest the ELA pathway, or recommend the Duolingo English Test (taken at home, results in days) if you want direct entry.
Can I use the tool on behalf of my child?
Absolutely. Parents can enter their child’s details and leave their own phone number; an advisor will call back and explain everything in Vietnamese.
Am I committed to anything after submitting?
No. The tool and the advising session are free and non-binding. You apply only when you are ready.
I want to know which major suits me before choosing a pathway.
Use the Major Finder tool first, then come back here. Or book a one-on-one session to do both in one meeting.
