A-State Athletics Announces "St. Bernards Medical Group Training Room Renovation Project"

Arkansas State University Vice Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics Jeff Purinton announced Thursday that the athletic training area at First National Bank Arena is currently undergoing a complete renovation, including equipment upgrades, following a generous financial commitment to the Red Wolves Foundation from St. Bernards Medical Group.
In recognition of the major gift, the ASU System Board of Trustees voted last month to rename the area the “St. Bernards Medical Group Training Room.” The Athletic Department will hold a special recognition ceremony to honor St. Bernards Medical Group during the 2:30 p.m. break of Saturday's men's basketball game against Louisiana on January 13.
"We are incredibly grateful to have St. Bernards as an outstanding, longtime partner," Purinton said. "They not only provide amazing support for our programs and student-athletes, but also have a tremendous impact on our community. We want to thank St. Bernards Medical Group and their Board of Directors for making this project a reality. The upgrades made to the St. Bernards Medical Group Training Room have significantly enhanced our athletic training facilities and opportunities for both current and future #RedWolves."
St. Bernards Medical Group was established in 2000, using its collective resources to improve patient and community health beyond what is available from any single physician or clinic. This medical group provides exceptional value to the community by partnering with St. Bernards Healthcare — the region's strongest and most advanced health system.
"Community outreach is an important part of our mission at St. Bernards Medical Group," said Dr. Ben Owens, Jr., President of St. Bernards Medical Group. "When members of our community succeed, that success extends to our entire community. For more than a decade, St. Bernards Healthcare has been the 'Official Healthcare Provider for Arkansas State University Athletics.' Our Medical Group's providers are excited to help A-State student-athletes have the training environment they need to succeed."
