JONESBORO – Three students from Arkansas State University's Creative Media Production program won gold and silver awards at the American Advertising Awards held last week at the Cooper Alumni Center.

Dr. Mary Jackson Pitts, director of the Creative Media Production program, said, "We are thrilled and proud to see our students recognized by media professionals for their creative abilities."

Colby Thompson of Conway won a gold medal in the Film, Video and Sound/Television Advertising category for his ESR Geo Wallet advertisement.

Kayla Lindsey of Ozark, Mo., won a silver award in the Film, Video and Sound/Television Advertising category for her creative media advertisement production.

Hannah Rainwater of Jonesboro won a silver award in the Film, Video and Sound/Television Advertising category for her A-State Food Pantry promotion.

Pitts added, "This award highlights our program's efforts to prepare students for success in the creative media industry."

The Northeast Arkansas American Advertising Federation (AAFNEA), a local chapter of the American Advertising Federation, hosted the awards ceremony.

The American Advertising Federation protects and promotes the prosperity of advertising through the nation's only coordinated grassroots network of advertisers, agencies, media companies, local advertising clubs, and college chapters. The AAF is the oldest national advertising trade association, representing 50,000 professionals in the advertising industry.
