Arkansas State University's "Inter-HOWL-actic" Celebration Set for October

JONESBORO – Arkansas State University (A-State) will hold its Homecoming celebration from September 30 to October 4. This year's Homecoming theme is “Inter-HOWL-actic,” a Mission to Homecoming.
It's time for liftoff, as outer space and the eclipse will be the theme for this year's celebration, with events geared toward students, alumni and the community.
On Friday, October 4, the A-State Alumni Association will celebrate its 100th anniversary. Guests will enjoy an evening with dinner, drinks and a performance by 90s party band Dial Up. This ticketed event will be held at the Cooper Alumni Center.
A free reception for alumni and friends will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, October 5, at the Cooper Alumni Center, featuring food, drinks and activities.
The entire student body will vote to determine the members of the Homecoming Court from 9 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday, September 27. After 5 female members and 5 male members are selected, students will vote again from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, October 3, while the candidates go through an interview before the Homecoming King and Queen are chosen.
The Student Activities Board (SAB) will kick off events starting at 7 p.m. Monday, September 30. SAB invites students to join a cosmic night for Skating Among the Stars, a skating event at the Red WOLF Center until 10 p.m. In addition, the event will feature glow-in-the-dark volleyball, dodgeball and cornhole.

The Class of 1974 will hold its 50th anniversary reunion celebration. Attendees will enjoy a campus tour and a private tour of the Bradbury Art Museum before the celebration on Friday evening to mark the reunion and the Alumni Association's 100th anniversary. The registration deadline to attend the reunion is September 25.
College of Education and Behavioral Science will honor its outstanding alumni from 4 to 6 p.m. on October 4 in the Spring River Room inside the Reng Student Union.
College of Agriculture will hold its fourth annual Furry 5K run on campus starting at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, October 5. Participants are welcome to bring dogs and strollers. Proceeds will benefit Ag for Autism, an organization for children with autism.
