Ellis Library Clock Tower to Light Up in Honor of A-State and Local Graduates


JONESBORO – Throughout May, Arkansas State University will light up the clock tower of Dean B. Ellis Library to give special recognition to graduating students.
The tower will glow bright red on Saturday evening, May 4, to honor A-State's newest graduates following the Spring Commencement ceremony held earlier that day at First National Bank Arena.
The evening before, Friday, May 3, the tower will glow blue to honor those being commissioned into military service through the Army ROTC program in the Department of Military Science.
As many local high schools hold their graduation ceremonies this month, several of them on the A-State campus, the clock tower will be lit in each school's colors on or near its graduation date, according to the following schedule:
- Gold for The Academies @ Jonesboro High School, Thursday, May 2
- Blue for Valley View High, Sunday, May 5
- Gold for Nettleton High, Monday, May 6
- Red for East Poinsett County High School, Tuesday, May 7
- Purple for Bay High, Wednesday, May 8
- Green for Ridgefield Christian School, Sunday, May 12
- Blue for Paragould High, Monday, May 13
- Red for Brookland High, Tuesday, May 14
- Blue for Marked Tree High, Wednesday, May 15
- Green for Greene County Tech, Friday, May 17
- Red for Westside High, Monday, May 20
- Blue for Wynne High, Tuesday, May 21
The final lighting will honor the last graduation celebration – in light blue for the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine at A-State, Friday, May 24.
